STORY

I founded PS Architects because I saw a critical gap in the built environment, one that went far beyond aesthetics, drafting, or building codes. Across New Jersey’s cities and neighborhoods, I witnessed communities struggling with housing shortages, aging building stock, underutilized land, and the overwhelming complexity of turning existing spaces into places people could afford, trust, and call home. 

For years, homeowners, developers, affordable housing organizations, and commercial tenants were navigating these challenges without clear guidance. People felt confused by zoning, uncertain about feasibility, stressed about timelines, and worried that the process was working against them, not for them.  

I knew architecture could do more. So, I created PS Architects with a different belief: 

When people are supported with clarity, care, and thoughtful guidance, we can create spaces and communities that are accessible, inspiring, resilient, and inclusive.  

Because architecture isn’t just about designing new buildings.  

It’s about giving new life to the ones we already have, preserving neighborhood character,  strengthening community identity, and using design to solve real social challenges, especially around affordability, density, and sustainability.

Who We Are:

PS Architects (PSA) is a multidisciplinary design firm located in New Jersey, founded in 2022 by Prital S. Shukla, RA, a licensed architect and LEED Accredited Professional with over 15 years of diverse architectural experience.

With extensive expertise in adaptive reuse, affordable and missing-middle housing, multifamily development, and commercial tenant fit-outs, PSA manages every phase of a project from initial feasibility and zoning strategy to construction documentation and occupancy.
